OUR SCHOOL MISSION

Chaparral Middle School is committed to equipping ALL students with the academic and social competencies needed for them to be productive members of the world in which they will live. We believe that students must be taught responsibility, how to make decisions,  and the communication skills that will be needed for them to function in a global society. Learning must occur in an environment free from prejudice and harassment, and rich in mutual respect. It is our belief, then, that we must implement programs and create conditions that maximize learning success for ALL students. We are dedicated to helping students "become their best."

Student Supply List

These items are the basic supplies that students are expected to bring to school each day.  Teachers may request additional spirals, folders, etc. depending on the subject.

  • Agenda Book
  • Reading Counts Book
  • ID card
  • Three #2 Pencils
  • Two Blue or Black Pens
  • White lined paper, at least 20 sheets
  • Accordion file with tabs OR 3-ring binder (2” minimum) with divider tabs
  • Pencil pouch/holder
  • Colored pencils
  • Eraser
  • Highlighter

Make Good Use of Your Agenda Book

Every student should have received a Chaparral Agenda Book the first day of school. Not only is this a valuable planner for students to note homework assignments and other events/projects but it can also be used as a communication tool between parents and teachers.

For your convenience, important school information and policies are included in the front pages. Parents should periodically check their students' agenda book. Messages to teachers can be noted in the agenda book or sent via email.

A copy of this year's agenda book is posted on this website (see General Information box above or Useful Forms on Home page). The school calendar is subject to change. Always refer to the
Calendar page for updates.

Students must replace lost or damaged agenda books. Fee = $5

PaySchools

Parents in Moorpark can now make many school purchases by credit card.  Payments can be made through PaySchools, an on-line service.  E-checks, that debit your checking account directly, are also a payment  option.  Link to the MUSD Parent Resource page for more information or go directly to PaySchools.  You will need to create your personal user account the first time you use PaySchool. When you navigate to the Chaparral page your purchase options (yearbook, P. E. clothes etc.) will be visible.  Or choose the Transportation option to purchase bus passes and coupon books.

For cafeteria purchases only:  connect to PayPal through Q-Parent Connect.

Fall Pictures & Make Ups Completed

ALL students have now been photographed for their Fall I.D. Pictures and have received their 2017-18 CMS photo I.D.s.

Students are expected to carry their photo I.D. cards with them at all times while at school and at school-related events. Replacement I.D. cards may be purchased from the Chaparral office for $5.

Parents who wish to order additional photos or have specific questions for Cornerstone should call their Customer Service at (805) 529-1635.
